DREMC meter update will affect outage reporting on Tuesday

If you experience a power outage on Tuesday, you’ll need to report it the “old fashioned way” to DREMC. Their automatic outage reporting will be down from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. during a meter software update. (File Photo)

LOCAL NEWS — If you wake up on Tuesday morning without power, you’ll need to report your outage to Duck River Electric Membership Corporation (DREMC) either through their interactive outage portal or by calling the Lynchburg office at 931-759-7344 during business hours or 931-759-7371 after hours.

Normally, it is not necessary to report individual outages to the local utility because their automatic outage reporting system does that for you. On Tuesday beginning at 6 a.m., DREMC will execute a meter software update that will affect that function. The system update is schedule to take place from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23.

For more information, call the DREMC Lynchburg office at 931-759-7344. •
