LOCAL EDUCATION NEWS | Lynchburg — Nursing was her passion. Thanks to a collaborative effort between her family and Motlow State that passion will live on through the The Kim Welch Stockton Memorial Nursing Scholarship.

Kim graduated from Motlow’s nursing program in 1976. After receiving her associate degree from Motlow, she earned a bachelor’s degree from Tennessee Tech University and a master’s degree from the University of Alabama-Huntsville. Kim worked as a nurse practitioner at local hospitals, nursing homes, home health organizations, and clinics throughout her career until retirement. She graduated from Tullahoma High School and was a lifelong resident of Tullahoma.

Applicants for the Kim Welch Stockton Memorial Nursing Scholarship must be enrolled in the nursing program at Motlow State and have a demonstrated financial need as evidenced by completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Preferred recipients are first-year nursing students who are graduates of Tullahoma High School, Coffee County Central High School or Franklin County High School.
