(Updated on October 30) LOCAL SPORTS | Tullahoma — It’s no secret that Friday night lights are a big deal here in tiny Moore County and most folks believe that success on Friday nights starts on Saturday morning with developing players through youth football. If that’s true then the future looks bright for prospective varsity Raider teams because on Saturday, the Moore County Youth Football Raiders Tackle Division team will play in the Frank R. Mullins Youth Football League championship game in Tullahoma.

The Moore County team placed second in regular season play and beat the Bel-Aire Bees on October 23 in the playoffs in order to reach the championship game. The Raiders were scheduled to play either the Robert E. Lee Lions or South Lincoln in the championship game on Saturday at 12 p.m. at Waggoner Park but they got rained out. They will now play on Monday night at 6 p.m. There will be a 20 minute halftime between halves in which the Moore County Youth Cheerleaders will perform.

The teams are the final two out of 19 total who began the season and the Raiders are coached by John Aaron Neal, Rodney Ervin, Alan Byrom, Greg Thompson, and Brandon Wells.•
