Metro School Board will discuss COVID-19 protocols at Monday’s meeting

LOCAL NEWS — The Metro Moore County School Board will meet on Monday, August 9 at 6 p.m. at the Moore County Department of Education Building located behind the elementary school. There will be a work session immediately following the meeting.

In new business, the Board will discuss COVID-19 protocols for the upcoming school year. The plan breaks down the potential responses into three phases that will change based on the most recent health data from the Tennessee Department of Health including the numbers of active cases in the county. Other new business to be considered includes the sell of a land for a Highway 55 expansion at the high school, a policy exception request for statewide dual credit enrollment, a softball field upgrade, and a bus driver resignation.

Director of schools Chad Moorehead will also report on the school systems most recent audit, student enrollment, an update of the sinkhole behind MCHS, and a MCHS sewer line repair.
