New teachers and a MCHS sink hole on tonight’s Metro School Board agenda

LOCAL NEWS — The Metro School board will meet Monday, July 12 at 6 p.m. at the Moore County Department of Education Building located behind Lynchburg Elementary.

In new business, the board will vote to adopt the annual agenda. You can view the annual agenda by clicking here. They will conduct monthly policy review including the Extended School Day/Year Programs policy. They will also revisit the 2021-22 General Purpose Budge.

Director of Schools Chad Moorehead will also report on a sink hole behind MCHS, the health occupation teacher, as well as MCHS class and athletic portraits. He will report that the official MCHS Certificate of Occupancy has been signed.

Director Moorehead will provide the name of the new hires for the 2021-22 school year including Mallory Taylor, Ashley Gass, and Hannah Wells at LES as well as Greg Jones, Marcy Thrower, and Charles Estes at MCHS.
