Raiderette Paisley Logan shuts out Tullahoma on Saturday

LYNCHBURG, Tenn. — Senior Raiderette pitcher Paisley Logan got the season going with a bang on Saturday with a shut out against the Tullahoma Lady Wildcats. Logan pitched three innings — allowing zero runs on one hit and striking out four. Her teammates help make the outing short with a 10-run third inning to put the game out of reach. Logan threw 50 pitches and 24 strikes.

Greenlee Ward got things going in the first inning with a double that scored Emilee Moorehead. Ward scored after tagging up on a pop out to right field to give the Raiderettes an early 2-0 first inning lead. Kaitlyn Vassar scored in the second inning thanks to a sacrifice bunt from Neleh Dickey to make it Moore County 3, Tullahoma 0.

Tullahoma managed a strike out, and two pop outs in the bottom of the second to set up the Raiderettes for their big 10-run inning. Those 10 runs came thanks to singles by Savannah Rose, Abby Neal, Neleh Dickey, and Anna-Leigh Ross, a double by Greenlee Ward, and a triple by Rose.

The Raiderettes scored 13 runs on 21 at bats with Neleh Dickey, Abby Neal, Savannah Rose, Anna-Leigh Ross, and Greenlee Ward all managing RBIs.

Greenlee Ward led on offense for Moore County with four RBIs followed by Savannah Rose with three. Anna-Leigh Ross, and Neleh Dickey added two RBIs each and Abby Neal hit one more. Emilee Moorehead, Greenlee Ward, and Anysten Metcalf each scored two runs each with Paisley Logan, Anna-Leigh Ross, Savannah Rose, Kaitlyn Vassar, Abby Neal, Neleh Dickey, and Whitney Fanning scoring one run each.

The Raiderettes also did not commit a single error in the 13-0 win.

The Raiderettes play at Cornersville today in a district match up. The game begins at 6 p.m. •
