Raiderettes beat Fayetteville 10-3 on Monday

LOCAL SPORTS — The Moore County High School Raiderettes (6-4, 2-0) pounced early in Monday night’s game in Lincoln County putting up a seven run lead on winless Fayetteville City through five innings on their way to a 10-3 district win.

The varsity Raiderettes were also scheduled to play the Lady Tigers on Tuesday, March 30 but that game was postponed.

Moore County got on the scoreboard first when a Fayetteville fielding error allowed one run. In the third inning, Moore County put up their best inning with runs by Anysten Metcalf, Madelynn McLaughlin, Paisley Logan, and Lauren Malone. Down the stretch, Jordan Lund and Kendall Dangerfield managed multiple hits for the Raiderettes. Lund led with three hits and three run in five at bats.

Paisley Logan got the start and the win for Moore County allowing only three hits and three runs while striking out seven and walking one.

The district win moves the Raiderettes into second place behind Eagleville (3-0, 6-3) with a perfect 2-0 district record and a 6-4 overall record. They also beat Cascade on March 22 by a score or 14-3. They will rematch with Cascade in Lynchburg on Tuesday afternoon. Tickets are on sale in the Go Fan app. •
