LYNCHBURG –– The Moore County Raiderettes have just two more opportunities to improve their district record before heading into the District 8 Tournament. They’ll take on the Lady Eagles in Lynchburg on Friday in their final district home game of the regular season.

Moore County comes into the game fresh off a 48-41 district win over Fayetteville on February 1. Moore County jumped out to a huge 21-4 first half lead against the Lady Tigers before allowing them to battle back in the fourth period. Fayetteville put up 25 fourth period points including 12 points from the perimeter. Moore County survived with a seven point victory. Olivia Richards led for the Raiderettes with 15 points followed by Ellie Graham with 11. {To read our full coverage of that game, click here.}

Eagleville beat the Lady Bulldog at Cornersville on Tuesday to improve their district record to 3-3. With district tournament seeding on the line, the Lady Eagles managed a 53-38 victory over Cornersville with double digit scoring from their staring five.

Moore County currently ranks second in District 8 behind Huntland, who has yet to drop a game. A win over Moore County would pull Eagleville even with the Raiderettes with four district wins apiece. A win for Moore County would improve their district record to 5-2 and likely put them in the drivers seat down the stretch.

Tip off will happen at MCHS Gym at 6 p.m. Those you can’t attend can watch the Moore County Sports Network on the NFHS Network or follow The Lynchburg Times Facebook page for live score updates. •
