WARTRACE, Tenn. — The Moore County Raiders fell to 1-1 on the regular season with a 74-50 loss at Cascade on Thursday. Moore County came into the game fresh off a 72-62 win at Culleoka. The Champions came into the game with a perfect 5-0 record so far this season – beating Rockvale 72-69 on Monday.

Moore County actually led in the first period thanks in no small part by hot three-point shooting by Alex Copeland. Copeland scored eight of the Raiders 17 first period points. After the first period, Moore County led 17-14.

Cascade adjusted in the second period. They outscored the Raiders by 14 points thanks to hot inside shooting from Cascade’s Lucas Clanton. The Champions also held Moore County to two buckets and two free throws. At the end of the first half, the Raiders went into the locker room trailing the Champions 34-23.

The trend continued down the stretch. Cascade outscored the Raiders in both the third and fourth periods to earn and 74-50 win and continue the perfect record.

Alex Copeland led with 17 points. Other contributing Raiders were Will Baker (8), Wes Clifton (8), Dawson White (6), and Sawyer Parks,(4). Keller Morey, Will Parker, and Blakely Bobo each swiched a bucket each. Lucas Clanton led for Cascade with 28 points.

Moore County will host Cascade next Tuesday, December 6 in the first home game of the 2022-23 season. Raider tip off will take place immediately following the Raiderettes game.
