STATE NEWS — There’s just something cool and hip about a wall of vintage license plates. In the past, those from Tennessee have taken many forms from sporting the state seal or the state capitol to the current version mean to evoke the Great Smokey Mountains.
Through next Monday, September 27 the State of Tennessee would like your help in choosing the next design. The state’s mocked up four different designs: a vintage inspired design in two different color schemes, a modern deign, and a plate that features the Tristar watermark.
To vote, click this link and give an email address and the name of the county you live in.
Voting began on September 20 and will end on September 27. According to state law, the license plate is redesigned every eight years if funds are approved. The new license plate design will replace the current plate that launched in 2006 with modifications in 2011, 2016 and 2017. The winning design will be announced later this fall and available in January 2022.•
