James Terry Amacher dies at 68

James Terry Amacher 1953-2022

MANCHESTER — James Terry Amacher, age 68, of Manchester died on Friday, February 18, 2022. Born on December 7, 1953 in Lincoln County to Earl and Virginia Amacher, Terry graduated from Motlow State Community College and then attended Austin Peay State University and MTSU. He was a former member of the Plumber and Pipe Fitters Union 572.

According to his family, he was also an avid reader who enjoyed music and kept up with politics on a daily basis. He also enjoyed grilling and barbecuing, SEC Football, Alabama especially. He had a distinctive laugh that carried in a room and loved playing practical jokes on everyone. He was of the Christian faith.

His father, James Earl Amacher, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 40 plus years, Deborah Amacher as well as step son, John (Joann) Cummins; step grandson Robert Cummins; mother, Virginia Amacher of Lynchburg; brother, Gregory (Mary) Amacher; nieces, Samantha (Ky) Brazelton, Lexie (Josh) Phillip, sister-in-law, Melissa (Jim) Cartwright; nephew, James (Jamie) Cartwright; nieces, Sarah Beth and Emma Grace Cartwright, Anna Marie (Jacob) Parnham, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, February 26 from 2-4 p.m. at Central Funeral Home in Manchester. A memorial service will be conducted immediately following visitation. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choosing. •
