Fall is officially here and that means there plenty to do in these milder temperatures. Here’s a list of our top five events happening in and around Lynchburg this weekend.
Cruisin in the Hollow in Lynchburg | It’s been an ongoing event in Lynchburg for decades. This Saturday the Whiskey Runners Car Club will bring classic cars and hotrods from around the state to Wiseman Park for the 2022 Cruisin in the Hollow. Model T’s, classic muscle cars, vintage luxury cars, hotrod trucks, novelty vehicles … there’s just no telling what might show up. There will also be live music by Good Time Sounds, food trucks, door prizes, and a 50/50 drawing. Check them out on Saturday, October 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, click here.
The Swiss Pantry Open House in Belvidere | If you’ve been leaning away from the mass-produced, processed food life and toward a simpler, more analog way of eating then you need to know about The Swiss Pantry in Belvidere. They’re a one-of-a-kind country store that offers items like raw honey, local apple butter, homemade dog treats, handmade bread, and Amish country meats as well as numerous gluten-free, sugar-free, and non GMO food and bakery items. If you’ve never popped by on the first or third Saturday of the month for a fresh, made-that-morning Swiss Pantry Donut … well, you’re missing out. The annual open house takes place on Saturday, October 1 beginning at 8 a.m. There will be live music by Georgia Crossroads, area crafters, and a food tent with BBQ plates. Common John Beer Festival in Manchester | They’re celebrating their second year as Manchester’s first craft brewery on Saturday, October 1 in what’s come to be known as the “family reunion.” This year, they’ve invited over 20 other regional breweries to participate – turning the day into a full blown beer festival. There will also be a home brewers competition, live music, and food trucks. Karaoke on the Lake in Winchester | As fall is officially here, we won’t get many more comfortable evenings to sit lakeside. On Saturday at 6:30 p.m., Drafts & Watercrafts at Twin Creeks Marina will host what’s sure to be one of the final karaoke nights of the season. It’s open to the general public. According to their new fall hours, they are now open Thursday through Monday and closed every Tuesday ands Wednesday. Management says they plan to stay open through October if the temperature stay mild. The restaurant is located a 91 Slip-A Way in Winchester. For more details, click here.
Bell Buckle Scarecrow Festival | If you’ve got that fall bucket list filled with Insta-worthy photo ops then add this Saturday’s Bell Buckle Park Scarecrow Festival to it. Locals can create and enter their own themed scarecrows into a fun contest in three categories. Plus, there will be live music, a witch cackling contest, food trucks, and more. The Bell Buckle Chamber hosts the event at 4 Railroad Square in Bell Buckle. For more information, click here.
