Tims Ford seeking marina and grill operator

Burgers, pizza, hand-dipped ice cream, pontoon and kayak rentals were all on the menu at the former Lakeview Marina located inside Tims Ford State Park. The state is looking for someone to take over operations in the spring. (Photo Provided)

LOCAL NEWS — Attention area entrepreneurs, would-be small business owners, and restaurateurs: the state of Tennessee is seeking a qualified group or individual to submit bid proposals to take over the former Lakeview Marina & Grill inside Tims Ford State Park. The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation recently posted the opening and the deadline to apply is December 15.

Interested parties should request a proposal package from Carla Martin at William R. Snodgrass TN Tower, 312 Rosa L. Parks Ave., 10th Floor, Nashville, Tennessee 37243-0446, call (615) 532-0345, or email [email protected].

The marina and restaurant are located inside Tims Ford State Park and should not be confused with the nearby, privately-owned Tims Fords Marina located just up the road at 175 Marina Way. Formerly operated at the Lakeview Marina, the location offers beautiful views of the lake, as well as boat rentals, and restaurant space.

The successful bidder will receive a three-year concession license to operate the facility. To read the full vendor listing click here. The restaurant and marina typically re-opens each April. •
