The publication named Lagavulin 11 year old Offerman Edition: Guinness Cask Finish single malt scotch as the 2021 Whisky of the Year, as determined by their blind tasting panel. You can find the complete Top 20 list at this link: Whisky Advocate Top 20.

Other Tennessee whiskies on the list were #5 George Dickel Bourbon.

Each year, Whisky Advocate reviewers collectively blind taste hundreds of whiskies, ranging from rare and extremely limited releases to new and emerging labels. The selection process for the Top 20 prioritizes quality (based on score), value (based on price), and availability.

“Our Top 20 is a selection of whiskies worthy of your attention. The list includes great values, whiskies that are best in class for their style, and skillfully crafted expressions that you should be seeking out,” said David Fleming, executive editor of Whisky Advocate. “Most importantly, each of these whiskies possesses our coveted X-Factor—for creating excitement and marking a highlight across our year of tasting.” •
