5 Things To Do Around Lynchburg This Weekend

The first day of Spring is right around the corner and Lynchburg folks are itching to get outside and explore. We’ve searched hundreds of websites and social media page so you don’t have to. These are our five favorite things happening in middle Tennessee this weekend.

Food Trucks at Tims Ford State Park — Don’t miss out on the combination of two of our favorite things on Saturday: the scenic views at Tims Ford State Park and food trucks. The Friends of Tims Ford State Park will host a Food Truck Frenzy on Saturday, March 18 beginning at 11 a.m. Tickets will be $10 each to sample food from all 15 food trucks and vote on your favorite ones. It’s an all day event that will also include vendors and live music plus programs at the Nature Center. Visit the Tims Ford State Park Facebook page for more details.

A Spring Craft Show in Huntsville — It’s spring art and craft show season and one of the best will happen just right down the road in Huntsville on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with the North East Alabama Craftsmen’s Association (NEACA) Spring Craft Show at the Von Braun Civic Center. The groups dedicates hundreds of hours each year to preserving sewing, quilting, doll making, woodwork, homemade soaps, sculpture, jewelry making, and a long list of handmade crafts. There will be hundreds of vendors. To learn more, check out the event’s Facebook page.

Daffodil Day in Bell Buckle — It’s the unofficial southern, middle Tennessee kick off to spring and this year they’ve added a Best of the Butts Barbecue Cookoff. Join the Bell Buckle Chamber of Commerce for Daffodil Day on Saturday. There will be a flower show, free tree seedlings, live music, vendors all in the cool atmosphere of historic downtown Bell Buckle. A Birthday Party in Lynchburg — So we don’t often include birthday parties in our event’s calendar but this one is special. Go by the Lynchburg American Legion Building located just off Highway 129 and wish local Clyde Fanning a happy 90th birthday. There will be cake and ice cream and we imagine the sapping of stories. The event takes place from 2-4 p.m.

A Barn Sale in Pelham — We love a good spring art show but we’re equally fond of a Spring Barn Sale. Shelton Farms in Pelham will host a Spring Barn Sale with Saturday featuring over 60 vendors and artisans offering everything from homemade candles to handmade home décor, handmade jewelry, boutique clothing, specialty foods, and art. The Easter Bunny will also make an appearance and food truck will be onsite. To learn more, visit the event’s Facebook page.
