The University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture is planning three in-person field days focused on horse management. Presentations and hands-on educational materials will be of interest for equine owners of all experience levels.

The closest to Lynchburg will happen in Spring Hill on Tuesday, February 13.

Presentations will be provided by faculty, staff, and students from the UT Department of Animal Science, UT Extension, and UT College of Veterinary Medicine. Topics this year will focus on nutrition, first aid, reproduction, equine skeleton and blanketing. Trending topics in the equine industry will also be discussed, along with a Q&A session.

The dates and locations of each field day include: Tuesday, February 6, 5 – 9 p.m. EST at the Brehm Animal Science Arena at UT Institute of Agriculture Campus in Knoxville, Monday, February 12, 5 – 9 p.m. CST at the First Farmer’s Cooperative in Lexington, and Tuesday, February 13, 5 – 9 p.m. CST at the Middle Tennessee AgResearch and Education Center, 1000 Main Entrance Drive in Spring Hill.

Each event will include dinner and is open to the public. All ages are welcome to attend.

Pre-registration is $5 until February 5 and attendees may register online at uthorse.tennessee.edu/horse-management-field-day. After February 5, individual registration is $10. Participants may register at the door.
