LYNCHBURG — McLaren Racing’s Lando Norris won his first-ever Formula 1 Grand Prix in Miami in May and Jack Daniel’s Distillery is helping them celebrate their first win under a multi-year partnerships with a little local product.
The distillery entered the Formula 1 sponsorship game in September 2022 in a move meant to increase global reach of Lynchburg’s Tennessee whiskey. {To read our full coverage of that announcement, click here.} The partnership began in the 2023 race season.
Jack Daniel’s recently presented McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown with a personalized barrel head and a specially selected barrel of Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Select Tennessee Whiskey to commemorate Lando Norris and McLaren Racing’s landmark win at the 2024 Miami Grand Prix.
The special barrel of Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Select, which yields approximately 240 750 mL bottles at 94 proof, was barreled April 2018 and was selected and set aside when the McLaren team first visited the Jack Daniel Distillery in October 2022. Bottles #4 and #81 from the barrel will be presented to McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.

Jack Daniel’s and McLaren Racing launched a multi-year partnership in 2023 to collaborate on a variety of branded events and programs throughout the F1 season, including retail activations, marketing and advertising campaigns, limited-edition bottles of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, as well as branding on McLaren’s F1 cars, drivers’ uniforms, and pit-crew helmets.
Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Select is 80 percent corn, 8 percent rye, and 12 percent malted barley, and is bottled at 94 proof (47 percent abv). Distilled in Lynchburg, Tennessee, the whiskey is mellowed drop by drop through 10 feet of charcoal before maturing in new, American white oak barrels handcrafted to the highest standards.
