LYNCHBURG — It’s one of the things that the Lynchburg community does best — rallying around one of their own and this Friday night before the Raiders home game against Cornersville, the Metro Moore County Volunteer Fire Department plans a benefit chili supper for the Scarlett Taylor and the Taylor family.

Scarlett is currently battling liver disease issues and recently returned home after an extended stay at an area hospital. She is the wife of Moore County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Shane Taylor and the mother of MCHS varsity cheerleader, Rylee Taylor.

Organizer will kick off the event at the MCHS Cafeteria at 5 p.m. Admission will get you chili with all the fixings for either dine in or carry out. It will be prepared by Miss Mary Bobo’s Head Cook Chris Dickey and Chief Neal.

If you’d like to donate a dessert or other items, reach out to Fire Chief Mark Neal or Jack Daniel’s Fire Brigade’s John LaCook. All proceeds will go directly to the Taylor family. •
