Moore Historical Society meets on March 8

LOCAL NEWS — The Moore County Historical Society will hold their monthly meeting on March 8 at 2 p.m. at the Farris Creek Lodge located just off the Lynchburg Square.

This month’s speaker will be John Parkes. Parkes manages the historical society’s Facebook page and regularly posts historical photos to make them available to the public. He’s originally from this area and enjoys many family connections in Moore County specifically from the Parkes and Fanning families. He currently lives in Madison, Alabama where he works a Teledyne Brown supporting the International Space Station.
