Motlow College Foundation hosts annual golf tournament on May 7

LOCAL NEWS — It’s a great day for a great cause.

The Motlow College Foundation plans the 29th annual Charles Gleghorn Invitational Golf Tournament for Friday, May 7 at the Pebble Creek Golf Club in Fayetteville. The Bank of Lincoln County will sponsor this year’s tournament and all proceeds will benefits the Motlow College Foundation, which funds scholarships for local students.

The Gleghorn Invitational is a four-person scramble with tee times at 8 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Breakfast will be available at 7:15 a.m. and lunch will be served at noon.

In addition to awarding cash prizes for first, second and third places for each of three flights, special prizes will be given for closest to the pin and longest drive. Howard Bentley Chevrolet Buick GMC sponsored this year’s hole-in-one competition.

The tournament entry fee will be $450 per team, and includes green fees, cart rental, mulligans, food, drinks, and goody bag. The rain date for the event will be May 14.
