BREAKING (Estill Springs) — The District Attorney called in the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) to help Franklin County and Estill Springs authorities investigate a potential murder, suicide late Tuesday night.

Around 9 p.m. Tuesday night, local officials were called to a home on 100 block of Circle Drive in Estill Springs by the daughter of one of the victims, where they discovered two bodies. Based on the scene, investigators say it appears that the man shot the woman and then turned the weapon on himself. Authorities found a gun on the scene, which they say the male did not possess legally.

On Wednesday, investigators announced that Adam Alcocer, age 50 of Tullahoma, killed his ex-girlfriend, Kimberley Dawn Oakes, age 48. Locals may also know her by her maiden name, Kim Elliott.
