5K Turkey Trot at Tims Ford benefits local Hospice Foundation

LOCAL NEWS | Hospice of the Highland Rim will host their annual Hospice 5K Turkey Trot and One Mile Fun Run (or Walk) at Tims Fords State Parks on Saturday, October 12. All proceeds will directly benefit hospice patients in Moore, Bedford, Cannon, Coffee, Franklin, Grundy, Lincoln, and Warren counties.

The course will follow the lake view, paved path at Tims Ford that is easy to navigate. Runners will continue to the bike bridge that crosses the lake to the turnaround point at the main campground entrance. The Turkey Trot is a timed event. Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female runners in each age group. The One Mile Fun Run is not a timed event. All participants are invited to attend the post-race awards ceremony and post-race celebration at the Tims Ford State Park Recreation Center.

The cost to participate in both events is $35 for an individual and $100 for team of five. To register, click here. Check in takes place at 7:30 a.m. and the race begins at 9 a.m. •
