MCMS Raiderettes blast past Hunland

HUNTLAND, Tenn. — The 2026 MCMS Raiderettes made a statement Tuesday, cruising to a dominant 16-0 victory over the Huntland Lady Hornets.

The Raiderettes wasted no time, striking early in the top of the first inning. Lexi Cash got things started with a solo inside-the-park home run, and the offense kept rolling from there — an error, an RBI single from Rylee Logan, an RBI single from Emaley Thomas, a passed ball, a two-run triple from Lexi, and another error combined to give the Raiderettes a commanding early lead.

They didn’t let up in the second. The Raiderettes sent eight runs across the plate on six hits, with Emaley driving in two, Olivia Jacobs adding an RBI single, Haven Hornaday plating two more, a dropped third strike scoring one, and Rylee capping the inning with a two-run single.

On the mound, Lilly Parks was nearly untouchable. The right-hander tossed three clean innings, allowing just two hits and no runs while striking out five batters without issuing a walk. The Huntland starting pitcher had a tough afternoon, giving up 16 runs (eight earned) on 11 hits over three innings, with four strikeouts and four walks.

Offensively, the Raiderettes collected 11 hits, with Emaley, Lexi, Olivia, and Rylee each recording two. Lexi paced the team with three RBI, going 2-for-3 on the day. The Raiderettes also swiped seven stolen bases, with Emaley, Penelope Rose, and Haven each swiping multiple bags. Defensively, the team was equally sharp, committing zero errors — Emaley led the way in the field with five chances handled.

Huntland managed just two hits.

“I’m hoping we can take this energy and momentum to Community on Thursday night and into our conference tournament,” Head Coach Tyler Hatfield said.

The Middle School Tournament starts Saturday at 8 a.m. at the Moore County High School Softball Field. The Raiderettes will play at 10 a.m. Games will continue Monday through Thursday of next week, weather permitting. •
