Lynchburg celebrated America’s 250th last Saturday with a huge fireworks show to conclude Frontier Days — though there are some unofficial shows happening between now and July 4. But no worries, many of the surrounding counties and locations in Southern Middle Tennessee plan fireworks and other special events heading into the weekend.
TULLAHOMA — Our neighbors to the northeast will host their annual Independence Day Celebration on Friday, July 3 beginning at 4 p.m. on Big Springs Avenue. The event will feature live musical performances from Vinyl Radio and Sixwire, games, kids’ activities, food trucks, and of course, fireworks. To learn more, click here.
WARTRACE — Wartrace may seem like a sleepy little town, but their historic downtown boasts a lot to offer locals. On Friday, July 3, Wartrace Parks and Rec presents Fireworks & Freedom to celebrate America’s 250th birthday. The event kicks off at 5 p.m. and will conclude at 9 p.m. with a fireworks show visible from Bridgeview Street and beyond. There will be a hot air balloon, games, a splash zone, food trucks and more. BELL BUCKLE — Historic Bell Buckle will celebrate America’s 250th birthday in style with several cool events happening on Saturday, July 4 at Bell Buckle Park located on Peacock Street. Wyld Fire will play from 6-9 p.m. in a free concert and there will be a reading of the U.S. Constitution. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be available for purchase and fireworks will kick off around 9 p.m. For more information, click here.
COWAN — Free barbecue, street dances and fireworks … what’s not to love about Cowan’s Independence Day celebration happening on Saturday, July 4? MONTEAGLE — Nearby Monteagle always does things a little differently, and Fourth of July will be no exception. They plan a Monteagle Celebrates Our 250th, Mountain Style event on Saturday, July 4 beginning at 10 a.m. with a parade through historic Monteagle. Then they’ll celebrate with a Rockabilly 250 Block Party with Jason Lee Wilson & James County Band from 6-9 p.m. at Hannah Pickett Park followed by fireworks on the mountain. SHELBYVILLE — Shelbyville Parks & Rec will also host a Fourth of July celebration on Saturday, July 4 at H.V. Griffin Park located at 220 Tulip Tree Road featuring food, live music, rides and fireworks once the sun goes down. You can learn more by clicking here.
WINCHESTER — If you own a boat, Winchester is where you want to be on Saturday, July 4 for their annual Lighting the Legacy at Winchester City Park, which begins at 9 a.m. According to organizers, this year’s show will be even bigger as they celebrate America’s 250th birthday with extra fireworks lighting up the skies over Tims Ford Lake.
