FRANKLIN COUNTY — Moore County farmer and beekeeper John Ferrell will help teach a Beginner’s Beekeeping Course at the Franklin County Farm Bureau Building on Monday and Tuesday, February 24-25. Ferrell is a local producer who is a regular at area farmer’s markets. He runs Ferrell Farms located on Daniel Hollow Road between Lynchburg and Tullahoma.
Ferrell will help you learn about setting up an apiary, required equipment, seasonal hive management, and integrated pest management techniques. The course is designed for both youths and adults.
Classes take place from 6-9 p.m. on both nights. The cost to attend is $20 and you will receive a Beekeeping Tennessee Manual. To register for classes, call 931-967-2741. The Franklin County Farm Bureau Building is located at 1401 Nicholson Street in Decherd. •
