FRANKLIN COUNTY — Citizens Community Bank in Winchester took to social media this week to warn area residents about a fraudulent email circulating concerning declined Amazon charges.

The email claims that your Amazon Prime membership benefits have been suspended due to a declined charge on the credit card on file. The message then prompts you to correct the information by clicking a link.

“Please do not go thru the prompts to change this as your account will be taken over and charges will be made to your debit card,” their social media account stated this week. “Customers are getting hit for 100’s of dollars.”

The email mimics the one posted above. It’s coming from a long email address: payments-updateama-corona07.222494@prime-service18032020amazon07.com. All legitimate email correspondence from Amazon always come from an email address ending in a simple @amazon.com. If you are unsure, log into your Amazon account or contact them directly. •
