Chamber announces new annual event, a chili cookoff

LYNCHBURG, Tenn. — Frontier Days, Halloween in the Hollow, Christmas in Lynchburg, and Spring in the Hollow — there’s always something fun to do here thanks to the hard-working folks at the Lynchburg Chamber of Commerce. And in 2026, they are adding a brand-new event, the It’s Still Chili Cookoff happening the same weekend as Spring in the Hollow, which is Saturday, April 25.

The International Chili Society (ICS) sanctioned event will take place in the Jack Daniel’s Welcome Center parking lot located behind the Tennessee Whiskey Trailhead. There will be four categories: traditional red, Homestyle with Jack (made with a little local product, perhaps), and a Kid’s Cook. All three will be judged by a panel of ICS judges. There’s also a Squire’s Only category that will be a People’s Choice award from 12-3 p.m. that day.

You could win prizes up to $500 and the entry fee is $35 for one category, $50 for two categories, and $10 for the Kid’s Cook.

Squires should reach out to the Chamber to register at 931-759-4111 or via email at Info@LynchburgTN.com. All other categories will register at the ICS website. This event is also a qualifier for the 2026 season.

You can keep up with all the fun happening in Lynchburg at the Chamber’s website.•
