Frank was born on May 29, 1952 in Athens, Tennessee to the late Ben Payne and Mary Jo Fletcher.  He was a 1970 graduate of Moore County High School and 1974 graduate of Tennessee Tech University.  Frank was an avid Moore County Raider and Tennessee Vol fan.  One of his greatest joys was coaching youth sports in Moore County.  He was a beloved coach of countless youth athletes in basketball, baseball, and softball throughout his entire adult life.  He will forever be known as “Coach Pop” to many.  Frank was also a devoted member of the Lynchburg First Methodist Church, serving as the Administrative Council Chairman for the past 25+ years.  He lived a very full life, full of travel, working on his beloved family farm in his garden, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Karen Bobo Fletcher.  As newlyweds, Frank’s work took them across the country, living in Ithaca, NY, Chicago, IL, Denver, CO, and Birmingham, AL before landing them closer to home in Chattanooga, TN.  After the birth of their first child, they moved back home to Lynchburg in 1982.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his in-laws, Frank and Avalee Bobo.  He leaves behind his loving children, Chris (Ashley) Fletcher and Kaleigh (Tyler) Hatfield all of Lynchburg; grandchildren, Madison and Liam Hatfield and Payne Fletcher all of Lynchburg; siblings Benny (Donna) Fletcher of Lynchburg and Linda (Ronnie) Blanton of Lascassas; and several devoted nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mr. Fletcher will be held on Tuesday, February 17 from 5 – 8 p.m. at Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home located at 181 Majors Boulevard in Lynchburg.  Funeral services will be held at Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 18 at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at Lynchburg Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made in his memory to the Moore County Hoops Club (1502 Lynchburg Hwy, Lynchburg, TN 37352) or to the Lynchburg First Methodist Church (65 Mechanic St N, Lynchburg, TN 37352). •
