REGIONAL EDUCATION NEWS | Fayetteville — Lincoln County High School will host a Community Wide College and Career Day on Monday, August 30 from 4-6 p.m. Representatives from colleges, technical schools, and branches of the military will all attend to provide local students with information about opportunities for life after high school. All Lincoln County and Moore County students in grades 9-12 and/or their parent(s)/ guardian(s) are encouraged to attend.
A Financial Aid Seminar will also take place that night. Individuals from the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation (TSAC) will be on hand to present info to seniors. TSAC facilitates the Lottery (HOPE) scholarship, TN Promise, Wilder-Naifeh grant , and other financial assistance programs for Tennessee students. This seminar will take place in the LCHS Theater from 6 to 7 p.m.
Information presented will include post-secondary education planning, insight to the Tennessee Promise program, and the process of filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). FAFSA is necessary to receive Lottery scholarship, the TN Promise, the Wilder-Naifeh grant, and any state or federal financial assistance.
Both events are free to attend. Lincoln County High School is located at 1233 Huntsville Highway in Fayettteville. All attendees will be temperature checked and hand sanitizer will be readily available. •
