Local Bobby Cashion dies at age 77

LOCAL OBITUARY | Bobby T. Cashion, age 77 of Lynchburg, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. His funeral will take place on Monday, July 6 at 11 a.m. at Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home located at 181 Majors Boulevard in Lynchburg with interment to follow at Lois Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Sunday from 5-8 p.m.

He was born in Belvidere on November 23, 1948, to the late Paul Ray and Lela Mae (Edde) Cashion. Before his retirement, he was employed as a truck driver, as well as working for Moore County. A simple man, he enjoyed spending time on his farm. He loved people, his church family at Lynchburg Church of Christ, and his family, cherishing the moments spent with them, especially his granddaughter. His loving, outgoing nature will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Mack Cashion and Gilbert Cashion. Bobby is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Carolyn Cashion; children, Jason (Stacey) Cashion and Jill Cashion; granddaughter, Jadalyn Cashion; and siblings, Paulette (Mike) Jennings, Nancy (Larry) Hatfield, and James (Brenda) Cashion.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Camp Joy. •
