On Friday, Lynchburg Times Editor and Publisher Tabitha Evans Moore and South Central Tennessee Tourism Association (SCTTA) Director Ryan French announces a new media partnership.

The partnership revolves around a new marketing effort to help locally-owned, small business in towns like Lynchburg. The new regional tourism site, Experience Tennessee, is the brainchild of incoming SCTTA Director Ryan French. He approached the newspaper in September with the idea. It only took one phone conversation to realize they were both passionate about the same thing … promoting small local businesses.

“We are laser focused at The Times on promoting the buy local and shop small mentality,” Moore said. “We are blessed to be the home of Jack Daniel’s Distillery and it’s a fabulous brand story. There are also dozens of interesting stories to tell about the restaurants, boutiques, artists, attractions, and unique shops of Lynchburg and we are excited to get additional opportunity to tell them.”

The new SCTTA website will feature a Lynchburg specific page filled with information about where to eat, shop, and stay and what to do while visiting this area. The Times will provide the content for the blog on this new page featuring content like profiles, lifestyles articles, photos, and reviews.

“Our goal with this website launch and subsequent marketing efforts is to not only drive travelers into our regions, but to also enhance their stay by introducing them to the unique places and southern hospitality that will make their trip memorial,” said French. “We felt the best way to support this concept was with thoughtful and authentic material. That is exactly what this partnership with The Lynchburg Times provides, authentic journalism from an entity that cares deeply about their community. We could not be more excited to be a part of this partnership.”

The new website (ExperienceTN.com) will launch at the end of the year, according to French. For more information, about the South Central Tennessee Tourism Association, check out their Facebook page by clicking here. •
