Major highway safety campaign conducted today on Highway 231

RUTHERFORD COUNTY — If you plan to travel U.S. Highway 231 today in Rutherford county, be on the look out law enforcement teams of state and local law officers as they implement the Rutherford County Traffic Safety Task Force.

The group will be monitoring parts of Highway 231 including Church Street to Memorial Boulevard inside the city limits of Murfreesboro as well as U.S. Highway 231 South (Shelbyville Highway) and U.S. Highway 231 North (Lebonnon Highway) between 2-7 p.m. Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) and other officials will be looking for motorists who are driving impairing, holding cell phones and driving, failing to wear seat belts, and driving recklessly. Extra officers will be posted in high-crash areas. •
