Back to School Health & Wellness Drive Thru Event planned for August 3

LOCAL NEWS — It’s Back to School time and every student (and parent) could use a little extra help this year. The Moore County Resource Center plans a free Back to School Health and Wellness Drive Thru Event for Tuesday, August 3 from 5-7 p.m. at the Moore County Public Library.

Qualifying students will receive a backpack filled with school supplies, hygiene products, snacks, and additional goodies by onsite resource partners organizations. Applications are available through July 23 at the Moore County Resource Center or in the info box located at the front of the Moore County Public Library. Proof of residency, income, a current address, and a working phone number will be required.

On the day of the event, line up will begin at the United Methodist Church parking lot on Mechanic Street behind the library.

The Moore County Resource Center is located in the basement the Moore County Building at 241 Main Street. They are open Tuesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. If you have questions, you may call or text them at 931-434-6808. •
