LOCAL OBIT | Melissa Maria Schmidt Moore, age 68, of Bonifay, Florida — formerly of Lynchburg —passed away on February 5, 2026, at her home. She was born on May 30, 1957, in Rutland, Vermont and was preceded in death by her parents, George Schmidt and Olympia Mary Tria Schmidt, her husband, Terry Moore, and one sister, Patricia Schmidt.

Melissa is survived by two sons, Shaun Lamb and Amanda and Jason Lamb and Dana; four daughters, Sarah Moore Colyar and Brian, Rachel Moore and Cory, Amy Moore Smith and Scott, and Tabitha Moore; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorialization will be by cremation with Peel Funeral Home and Bonifay Crematory in charge of arrangements.
