Motlow sweeps Volunteer State; plays Snead State on Monday

LYNCHBURG, Tenn. — If you’ve got the week off and need a fun, family activity, Motlow State will take on Snead State tonight. The women’s game tips off at 5:30 p.m. followed by the men’s team at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $6, and tonight is Faculty & Staff Appreciation night.

Motlow sweeps Volunteer State last week

The Motlow men’s and women’s basketball teams went on the road and beat TCCAA rival Volunteer State in Gallatin on Saturday. Both Motlow squads remain unbeaten in conference play.

The Motlow women (2-0, 3-3) evened their overall record with a 63-56 win over the Lady Pioneers in Saturday’s first contest. The Bucks held Volunteer to 19 points in the first half, then scored 24 themselves in the third quarter to put the home team away.

The Bucks men’s team (2-0, 3-2) was equally impressive, racing to a 103-79 win. Motlow led 53-36 at the half and rolled to their second straight victory. The Bucks won the rebounding battle 48-32. LaVonte Harris led the way with 24 points and eight rebounds, while JaDarian Faulkner added 14 points and 11 assists.
