MTSU plans tourism and hospitality fundraiser at Pritchard’s Distillery

KELSO — Middle Tennessee State University’s Tourism and Hospitality Management (THM) program is inviting the community to an evening of food, cocktails, and fun at its upcoming Dinner & Drinks Fundraiser on Saturday, October 18 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Pritchard’s Distillery in Kelso.

The historic craft distillery is named after Benjamin Prichard who made whiskey with high sugar content in an ancient pot still over five generations ago. The distillery still produces pot-stilled whiskies using the traditions and styles of his day.

The October event will feature a casual supper followed by a cocktail class led by Pritchard’s Master Distiller Phil Pritchard. Guests will learn how to make and taste four seasonal cocktails with the opportunity to purchase products from the distillery after the class.

“We’re excited to partner with Pritchard’s Distillery to offer a fun evening that also helps our students,” said Elizabeth Whalen, Program Coordinator for THM. “It’s a chance for the community to enjoy great food and cocktails while investing in the next generation of hospitality leaders.”

Pritchard’s Distillery typically charges $30 for its public cocktail classes, so guests are asked to make a donation of $30–$50 to attend. All proceeds will directly benefit the MTSU Tourism and Hospitality Management program, supporting student travel, professional development, and career opportunities.

Pritchard’s Distillery is located at 11 Macon Lane in Kelso. The event will be limited to 25 seats with a required RSVP. To reserve your seat, contact Elizabeth Whalen at ewhalen@mtsu.edu. •
