General Notice
Metro Moore County Utility Department, Lynchburg, TN (Owner) is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project: CATES BOOSTER PUMP STATION PROJECT
Bids for the construction of the Project will be received at the Metro Moore County Utility Department
located at 705 Fayetteville Highway, Lynchburg, TN 37352, until August 3, 2023 at 2:00 PM local time.
At that time, the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.
The Project consists of the installation of a water booster station and associated mains, and connections
to existing water distribution mains serving the Lynchburg, Tennessee operated and maintained by the
OWNER. The water booster station identified as the Cates Water Booster Station, is located at the
intersection of Fayetteville Highway and Old Fayetteville Highway at 1945 Old Fayetteville Highway. The
projects will consist of clearing and grubbing of the permanent utility easement acquired by the OWNER,
grading site to finished grade contours, develop the site by installing gravel pad area, design and
installation of concrete slab to accommodate the prefabricated booster pump skid and building, concrete
drive entrances, storm drainage culverts, stabilization of site with permanent vegetation, new fencing and
gates, booster station piping, fittings, and appurtenances to connect to existing water main, install carrier
and casing pipes under roadways by jack and bore methods and restore asphalt pavement along Old
Fayetteville Highway. Work shall also include coordinating and providing electrical services to the site and
the integration of pump system controls and telemetry systems to OWNER’s existing telemetry system.
Bids are requested for the following Contract: CATES BOOSTER PUMP STATION PROJECT
The Project has an expected duration of 180 calendar days for substantial completion, and 210 calendar
days for final completion.
Obtaining the Bidding Documents
The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is: LJA Engineering, Inc., Knoxville Office
Electronic Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office by contacting Vickie Wilhite
[email protected] or 865-328-3141. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the
Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding
Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.
Pre-bid Conference
A non-mandatory Pre-Bid Conference for the Project will be held on July 25, 2023 at 10:00 AM local time at Metro Moore County Utility Department, 705 Fayetteville Highway, Lynchburg, TN 37352. A Virtual meeting will also be held via Microsoft Teams. Interested parties should contact Vickie Wilhite [email protected] for link to virtual meeting. Bidders are encouraged to attend, but it is not required.
RFI’s will only be accepted in writing to [email protected] until July 27, 2023 until 5:00 PM local time.
Instructions to Bidders
For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents. All bidders must be licensed and shall comply with all requirements of the State of Tennessee Contractor’s Licensing Act.
