Raiderette fall to Eagleville, settle for third in district tourney

LOCAL SPORTS NEWS | Cascade — The MCHS Raiderettes lost to Eagleville 12-7 on Thursday – finishing third in District 8A play. Eagleville will move on to play Huntland on Friday for the District 8A title. Both Eagleville and Huntland will move on to the Region 4A Tournament.

Eagleville got on the board in the second inning, when Sarah Thompson’s sacrifice fly scored one run. Moore County answered by adding two runs in the third inning but Eagleville pulled away for good in the fifth innings by adding four runs.

Jordan Lund led for the Raiderette with four hits and Anysten Metcalf managed three hits and six RBIs. Emilee Moorehead and Madi Carter dinged two hits each and Kendall Dangerfield and Lauren Malone added one each. On the mound, Paisley Logan pitched six innings surrendering 12 run on eight hits and striking out four. •
