Raiders start baseball season as pre-season #2

LYNCHBURG, Tenn. — High school baseball’s opening day is today and the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association recently released their preseason high school baseball poll for the 2022 season and the Moore County Raiders are ranked number two in the state among Class A teams. The 2021 season state runner up Raiders currently sit behind the East Robertson, who beat Moore County 5-1 in the state playoff game last May.

The complete Top 10 is as follows:

1. East Roberson 2. Moore County 3. South Pittsburg 4. North Greene 5. Eagleville 6. South Fulton 7. Gordonsville 8. University School (Johnson City) 9. Peabody and 10. Trousdale County.

The Raiders will play their first game at Lincoln County on Monday at 4:30 p.m. They’ll begin district play on Monday, March 28 at home against Huntland. They face off with fellow Class A pre-season Top 10 team Eagleville on Monday, April 25. •
