FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. — The top-ranked Fayetteville Tigers jumped out early on the Raiders on Tuesday and never looked back. They outscored Moore County 19-11 in the first period and built that lead to 37-22 by the half. The final score was 75-49.

It was the second regular season match up for the Raiders and Tigers. Fayetteville beat Moore County in Lynchburg by a final score of 69-36 on January 13. Moore County came into the game fresh off a 63-51 rivalry loss to Huntland last Friday. The Raiders led in the first period of that game but could not hang on down the stretch. {Click here to read our complete coverage of that game.}

The Tigers used a series of inside shots by Bryson Johnson and perimeter shots from Isaiah Thomison to seal the win. At the final buzzer, the Raiders dropped to a 2-4 district record and Fayetteville advanced to 6-1.

Keller Morey led with 21 points

Keller Morey – who wasn’t available for the first game against the Tigers – led with 21 points followed by Alex Copeland with 16. Will Baker added four points and Peyton Martin scored another two. Gavin Wise and Cooper Dickey came off the bench and scored a basket each.

The Raiders will travel again on Friday to play Eagleville in Rutherford County on Friday. The game will tip off immediately following the girls game. You can watch it online on the NFHS Network or follow The Lynchburg Times Facebook page for score updates. •
