LOCAL OBITUARY | Susan Harrison Osborne, age 72, of Carlyle, Illinois died on Friday July 19, 2024, at Carlyle Healthcare Center.  A memorial service will be held at the Lynchburg First Methodist Church later in the season where her son, Jonathan, will leave ashes at her parent’s graves in Lynchburg.  Susan’s wish was to also have her ashes scattered in the ocean, which Jonathan will do after her memorial service.

Born on August 2, 1951 in Shelbyville, Susan was the only child of the late Jack Harrison and Eulalia Daniels Harrison. In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Allison Osborne III, whom she married on October 3, 1976, at First United Methodist Church in Tullahoma.

Susan dedicated her life to the medical field where she specialized in phlebotomy at St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis.

She is survived by her only son, Jonathan Gray Osborne of Carlyle, Illinois, as well as her cousins, Patti and Ted Beatty of Hutchison, Michigan, Nancy and Shirley Daniel of Lebanon, Yvonne Moore of Tullahoma, Jack Daniel of Lynchburg, Barry and Paula Osborne of Carlyle, Drs. K. Juston and Emily Osborne of Richmond Heights, Missouri, and Barret T. Osborne of Bansko, Bulgaria. •
