TULLAHOMA — In an abundance of caution and as a nod to our area’s front line workers, officials will postpone the annual Tullahoma Fireworks Show until Labor Day.

Governor Bill Lee’s restrictions on large gatherings combined with social distancing guidelines created too many obstacles for the show to be the “best experience” for spectators, officials said.

“I don’t think we should cancel the event,” said Mayor Lane Curlee. “I believe people need an uplifting event to look forward to. We want to emphasize at this point that the event has not been cancelled, but rather postponed.”

The Labor Day event will also be dedicated to area essential workers. That event will take place over Labor Day weekend. •
