MOORE COUNTY, Tenn. — A 24-year-old Tullahoma man drowned Sunday on Tims Ford Lake after falling from a paddle craft and disappearing beneath the surface, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency confirmed.
Blake Lewis was on the water with a friend in a paddle-style vessel when he fell overboard at approximately 5:20 p.m. on Sunday, April 5. The companion attempted to throw personal flotation devices to Lewis, but he was unable to reach them before going under. Lewis was not wearing a life jacket at the time of the accident.
Emergency responders from Franklin County, Moore County and TWRA were called to the scene. Search crews used sonar equipment to locate Lewis, who was recovered at approximately 7:11 p.m.
The incident remains under investigation. TWRA said it marks the fourth boating-related fatality on Tennessee waterways in 2026 and the second on Tims Ford Lake this year.
