LYNCHBURG — There’s a “buy local” and “support small” movement sweeping across America as consumers look to keep more of their money closer to home. That’s why local, small-town festivals like Christmas in Lynchburg are the perfect opportunity to get your name and product out there.
The local Chamber of Commerce’s annual Christmas in Lynchburg festival will take place on Saturday, December 6. It will begin with Breakfast with Santa and end with a nighttime Christmas Parade and Jack Daniel’s Barrel Tree lighting – giving folks plenty of time to shop in between. Other planned events include a community ornament swap, gift wrapping station, Christmas cookie sale, pictures with Santa, and more.
The Chamber will accept applications for local small business, artisan, and locally made vendors now through the week before the event. Early applicants can get one 10×10 booth space for $50, two spaces for $75, or three booth spaces for $120. Limited electricity will be available for $20 per 20-amp plug. After November 25, those prices increase by $10 each.
Set up time will begin at 8 a.m. on the day of the event with activities beginning at 10 a.m. on the historic Lynchburg Square. For safety reasons, the Chamber asks that vendors stay in place until 4 p.m. Those wishing to stay until after the Christmas Parade and the Jack Daniel’s Barrel Tree Lighting may stay until 6:30 p.m.
The annual Christmas Parade will begin at 5 p.m. and vendors are encouraged to stay in place until after the parade for the safety of everyone. The Barrel Tree lighting will begin immediately after the parade.
Vendor spots are not considered reserved until payment is received. This is a rain or shine event, and all fees are non-refundable. Confirmation will be sent once your application is accepted. A Chamber member will be onsite the date of the event to direct you to your reserved spot.
