WARTRACE, Tenn. — The Moore County High School (MCHS) Raiderettes notched their second victory of the regular season on Thursday with a 58-18 win over the Cascade Champions in Bedford County. It was the first meeting for the two teams in the 2022-23 season. Moore County came into the game fresh off a 64-32 win at Culleoka on Tuesday. The Champions lost at Rockvale 61-22 on Monday night.

Moore County jumped out early on Cascade and never trailed for four periods. They put up 15 first period points and 12 second period points while holding the Champions to single digit scoring. The Raiderettes went into the break leading 27-12. Madison Dingler led in the first half with 10 points followed Ellie Graham with seven points.

Things didn’t get much better for Cascade in the second half. Moore County came out strong in the third period scoring 18 while holding the Champions to just a couple of buckets. Then, they scored 13 in the final stanza while holding Cascade to just two points. At the final buzzer, Moore County beat Cascade 58-18.

Madison Dingler led with 16 points followed by Paisley Logan, Ellie Grahm, and Ava Butts with nine points each. MacKenzie Goodwin and Maecy Fletcher scored six points each and freshman Bella Tucker scored a trey. Sophie Ray led for Cascade with eight points.

Moore County will host Cascade next Tuesday, December 6 in the first home game of the 2022-23 season. Tip off will be at 7 p.m. The Raider game will follow. Those who can’t attend in person can listen at Raider Radio at The Lynchburg Times website. •
