LYNCHBURG, Tenn. — Raiderette Ellie Graham showed up and showed out on Tuesday at Moore County’s regular season home opener against Cascade. The sophomore put up 20 of Moore County’s 59 points to lift the Raiderettes to a 59-34 victory. The win keeps the Raiderettes perfect in regular season play. Cascade remains winless so far this season.

It was the second meeting for the Class 2A Champions and the Class 1A Raiderettes. Moore County beat Cascade in Wartrace by a final score of 58-18 last Thursday. {To read that complete game coverage, click here.}

On Tuesday in Lynchburg, the Raiderettes jumped out to a quick lead on the Champions with 24 first period points including 10 points by Graham. Cascade managed just two baskets – a trey by Champion Suzanna Crews and two points by Abriella Presley. At the end of the first period, Moore County led 24-6.

Cascade managed two more treys in the second period, one by Presley and another by Kaydence Miller, to pace Moore County in the second period. The Cascade defense also keyed in on Graham in the second period – sending her to line three times. Moore County went into the half time break leading 37-17.

The Champions attempted a come back in the third period – outscoring Moore County by one. The Raiderettes missed four of six from the free throw line in the third stanza. Buckets by Paisley Logan, Maecy Fletcher, and Ava Butts added six more points. At the end of the third period, the Raiderettes maintained the lead, 45-26.

Moore County spread out the scoring in the final stanza with Paisley Logan, Katy Fletcher, Makenzie Goodwin, Ellie Graham, Madison Dingler, and Anna Harder all contributing to Moore County’s 14 fourth period points while holding Cascade to just eight.

At the final buzzer, the Moore County ladies notched at 59-34 win.

Ellie Graham led all players with 20 points. Other contributing Raiderettes were Ava Butts (8), Katy Fletcher (7), Paisley Logan and Madison Dingler (6 points each), Makenzie Goodwin and Anna Harder(4 points each). Audrey Harder and Maecy Fletcher each contributed a bucket. Abriella Presley led for Cascade with 13 points.

The Raiderettes will travel to Fayetteville on Thursday to play the AAA Lincoln County Falcons (5-1, 0-0). It will be the first meeting for the two teams in the 2022-23 season.
