LYNCHBURG, Tenn. — They meet the last Friday of each month and on Friday, June 27 the Moore County Library Brown Bag Book Club will discuss Grave Reservations by Cherie Priest.
It’s a quirky, fast-paced mystery with a supernatural twist. The story follows Leda Foley, a travel agent with psychic abilities, who impulsively changes a client’s flight –and ends up saving his life. That client just happens to be a Seattle police detective, and soon, the two team up to solve a cold case with help from Leda’s not-always-reliable visions and a colorful cast of characters.
Priest wrote the book in 2021 as her mystery debut. She’s authored 23 other books. Her most recent novels are Flight Risk and Holy Terror. Her best-known novel, Boneshaker, was penned in 2009. She lived in nearby Chattanooga before relocating with her husband to Seattle.
Priest is known for her genre-bending novels and leans into charm and wit in this book – the first in a planned series. Grave Reservations delivers a story that’s both funny and suspenseful, ideal for fans of light mysteries, psychic sleuths, or those simply looking for an entertaining summer read.
