LYNCHBURG, Tenn. — Tis the season here and Lynchburg. The Jack Daniel’s Holiday Barrel Tree is lit. The historic Lynchburg Square is aglow in holiday lights and on Saturday, December 3 the Lynchburg Chamber of Commerce will host a full day of events during the annual Christmas in Lynchburg celebration.
Activities will kick off at 8 a.m. with Breakfast with Santa at the Lynchburg Masonic Lodge and end around 2 p.m. with the annual Christmas Parade.
Here’s a complete schedule of events provided by the Lynchburg Chamber:
8-10:30 AM • Breakfast with Santa at the Lynchburg Masonic Lodge (Proceeds benefit MCHS Project Graduation)
9 AM • Christmas in Lynchburg Postmark at the Lynchburg Post Office — Mail your Christmas cards with a special one day commemorative postmark.
9 AM • FCE Annual Cookie Sale at the IBIS Building
9 AM • Trees of Christmas Display at the IBIS Building — Vote for your favorite Christmas tree. (All proceeds to benefit MCHS Project Graduation.)
9 AM to 4 PM • Craft and Food Vendors Around the Square. Check out the local craft vendors and taste the local treats.
10:30 AM • Storefront Decoration Contest, Gingerbread House Decorating, and Moore Christmas Lights winners announced.
10:30 AM to 12:30 PM • Free Buggy Ride- Around the Square provided by C & R Buggy Tours.
Beginning at 11 AM • Exclusive, one day only Lynchburg Collectible Ornament Give Away at Lynchburg Gifts & More — Bring your receipts from local businesses totalling $50 or more and receive this year’s collectible ornament free. Ornaments may also be purchased for $7.
11:30 AM • Bring the children to hear inspirational songs and a reading of The Crippled Lamb by local Meredith Burton
12 PM • All Critters Christmas Costume Contest at the Gazebo — Win prize money for your best creative Christmas costumes. (Sponsored by International Book Import Service)
12:30 PM • Live Christmas music by Caitlyn Wolaver and Dusty Hardin
12:30 PM • Line up for the annual Christmas Parade in Wiseman Park. Call or text 931-212-5267 by December 1 to register your float or organization for the parade. Horses and walkers need not register. Prize money and ribbons will be awarded.
1 PM • Just for Clicks Cloggers will perform on the Lynchburg Square
2 PM • The annual Christmas Parade will begin in Wiseman Park and continue around the historic Lynchburg Square. (Sponsored by Farmers Bank and the International Book Import Service)
In addition to the scheduled events, there will be a Merchant Storefront Decorating Contest, Gingerbread House Decorating Contest, and Moore County Christmas Lights Contest in the weeks leading up to December 3. Those winners will be announced during Christmas in Lynchburg at 10:30 a.m.
