LOCAL NEWS — If you see emergency management vehicles speeding towards Moore County High School tomorrow around 9:30 a.m. don’t be alarmed. It’s only the annual MCHS Mock Crash.

Emergency personal plan mock crashes at local high schools to educate students, teachers, and faculty about the dangers of traffic accidents. In particular they hope to stress the importance of using seat belts, paying attention behind the wheel, avoiding distracted driving, and to show the consequences of drunk driving.

“This is the biggest we’ve ever done,” said Metro Moore Public Safety Director Jason Deal.

The mock crash scene will involve a Moore County school bus as well as participation from around 25 students and/or faculty. The Moore County Sheriff’s Department, Metro Moore Volunteer Fire Department, Metro EMS will all respond as if there’s an actual emergency but stress that citizens should not be alarmed. All mock crash activities should be completed by 11 a.m. •
