Here’s a quick list of the all the community calendar events happening in Lynchburg this week. If we missed something, feel free to post it in the comments.
MONDAY • The Moore County Library will host Valentines’ Crafts on Monday for ages three and up. To registration required. Just drop in from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
MONDAY • The Moore County Board of Education will meet on Monday, February 9 at 6 p.m. at the Moore County High School Library. To see a full agenda of the items to be discussed, click here.
TUESDAY • The Moore County Public Library Board of Trustees will meet on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at the library. The public is welcome to attend.
TUESDAY • The Moore County Raiders and Raiderettes will head to nearby Huntland on Tuesday for game two in the 2025-26 season. It’s one more shot to notch a district win before District 9A Tournament time hits. The girls’ action tips off at 6 p.m. and the boys’ game will follow.
TUESDAY • The Metro Utilities Board will meet on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the MUD offices located at 705 Fayetteville Highway in Lynchburg. All meeting are open to the public and there is a public comment period.
WEDNESDAY • Lil Bookworms Preschool Story Hours happens at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Moore County Public Library.
WEDNESDAY • Go support former Moore County Raiderette stand outs Katy Fletcher and Emma Sazonov this Wednesday as they take on Cleveland State Community College as part of the Motlow Lady Buck’s Women’s Basketball team. Tip off is a 5:30 p.m.
THURSDAY • The Moore County UT Extension office will host a Master Beef Class on February 12 from 6-8 p.m. Course completion gives you three years of certification, as well as eligibility for TAEP Cost Share Programs. Reach out to Will Thomas with questions at 931-759-7163.
THURSDAY • Need a mid-week break? Canterero Mexican Grill on the Lynchburg Square will do Brain Blast Trivia on Thursday at 7 p.m. It’s free to play and you could win prizes.
FRIDAY • The 2025-26 regular season is winding down and Moore County will take another shot at 3A Franklin County on Thursday. The girls in Columbia blue beat the Lady Rebels at the end of January and the Raiders get a shot at payback. The girls’ action tips off at 6 p.m. and the boys’ game will follow.
FRIDAY • The Moore County High School Wrestling Team has two wrestlers — Shilo Bryan and Lavina Chase — headed to sectionals at Paige High School on Friday.
SATURDAY • Moore County’s Boys’ Wrestling Individual Sectional will take place at Tullahoma High School on Saturday and MCHS’s Izayah Pettygrue will be wrestling.
